Junior Coaching
There are still a few places left on the second week of the summer camps (on the afternoons of 27th, 28th, 29th August). Contact Neil (coaching@(nospam)bredon-tennis.org.uk) for more information and to book a place. Regular coaching resumes again during the week commencing 9th September at the following times:
| Day | Time | Coaching Group |

| Mondays | 3:45 - 4:15 | Mini Tennis Red |
| 4:15 - 4:45 | Mini Tennis Red Development | |
| 5:00 - 6:00 | Mini Tennis Green | |
| Tuesdays | 4:15 - 5:00 | Mini Tennis Orange |
| 5:00 - 6:00 | Junior Advanced | |
| 6:00 - 7:00 | Junior Performance |
Several of these groups are now full, but it should be possible to arrange additional sessions, probably on Wednesdays.
Junior Teams
This summer, Bredon entered three boys' teams in the Gloucestershire junior league. Each meeting consists of two singles matches followed by a doubles. Those juniors taking part are:
- 11 & Under: James Barker, Tom Kelly, Thomas Wade
- 13 & Under: Richard and Stephen Derrett, Adam Dziamarski (reserve)
- 17 & Under: Ed Barker, Chris Warren, Tristan Buckley, Alex Barker
Our 11&U team has romped home, winning 3-0 every time. Our 13&U team also played brilliantly but has had a more difficult time with matches either being cancelled or unable to be rescheduled. The 17&U fixtures have also suffered many alterations and so far only two fixtures have been played. On both occasions our players were considerably younger than their opponents. However, they made a gallant effort, playing some excellent tennis, and won some of their matches.
Many thanks and congratulations to all the boys for representing the Club and for the sporting manner in which all the matches have been played. Thanks also to all the parents for providing transport and unstinting support! We hope to be able to put all the results up on the notice board in the pavilion when they are available.
Adult Teams
The men's teams are having a mixed season. With the loss of two regular players, the A team is struggling to avoid relegation. They are currently 5th out of 7 with 11 points, having won 1, drawn 3 and lost 4, with 1 unfinished. A couple of good results at the end of the season are needed to remain in division 1.
Similarly the B team is struggling having won 1, drawn 1, and lost 6, with 2 unfinished. Injuries and the need to release players to the first team have had a knock on effect. They have 11 points and are 6th out of 7 with 2 to play. Again they will need good results to have a chance of avoiding relegation.
After being relegated last year, the C team has already won promotion, with a lead of 17 points over the second place team. They are unbeaten, having won 9, with 2 unfinished and one to play.
The ladies' A team has been dogged by injury and illness, and currently 4 matches have been postponed with the loss of 8 points to the team. They have won 2, drawn 3 and lost 2, giving a total of 6 points and are likely to be relegated unless some good results can be obtained from the re-arranged matches.
The ladies' B team is top of its division and is unbeaten, having won 5, drawn 5, with 1 unfinished and 1 left to play. They are closely followed by East Glos E, but it is most likely that they will gain promotion.
The ladies' C team has unfortunately lost 7 out of 8 of its matches so far and has only 7 points.
New Year Party
There will be a party at Bredon Village Hall on Saturday 25th January to which all members are invited. There will be a 60's/70's disco and you are asked to bring a contribution (savoury or sweet) for a shared finger buffet. The bar will be available. Tickets are £5 and can be reserved on your tournament entry forms, or purchased nearer the time from committee members. Club Tournament trophies and the Wefri cup will be presented, so come along and join in the fun.
