Annual Club Tournament
The club runs a tournament each year over a number of months for men's and ladies' singles and doubles, and mixed doubles. The results from the 2009/10 club tournament are as follows:
- Men's Singles: Lee Sharpe beat Martin Sime (6-4, 4-6, 6-2)
- Ladies' Singles: Nila More beat Carole Bankes (6-3, 6-2)
- Men's Doubles: Martin Sime & Andy Gray beat Ron Loxley & Stuart Dyer (6-3, 6-1)
- Ladies' Doubles: Carol Smith & Wendy Coke beat Viv Macrae & Dee Wade (6-2, 6-4)
- Mixed Doubles: Jess Hutchison & Stuart Hutchison beat Barbara Stevens & Ronnie Stevens (3-6, 6-4, 6-4)
- Mixed Doubles Plate: Nila More & Martin Sime beat Jackie Woodward & Tommy Spry (6-7, 6-3, 6-2)
During the year there may be other American tournaments, weekend events, and tournaments for juniors.
The Road to Wimbledon
Some of our under 14 juniors will be playing in this singles tournament. The first round is played within the club and the winner and runner-up go through to the county finals. The county winners get to play at Wimbledon!
