Annual Club Tournament
The club runs a tournament each year over a number of months for men's and ladies' singles and doubles, and mixed doubles. The results from the 2007/8 club tournament are as follows:
- Men's Singles: Stuart Hutchison beat Rob Jones (6-1, 6-4)
- Men's Doubles: Martin Sime and Andy Gray beat Tim Troughton and Colin Smith (6-1, 6-7, 7-6)
- Ladies' Singles: Carol Smith (round robin)
- Ladies' Doubles: Carolyn Perry and Jackie Woodward beat Sara Holyer and Carole Bankes (7-6, 1-6, 6-4)
- Mixed Doubles: Colin Smith and Carol Smith beat Carole Bankes and Lee Sharpe (6-2, 6-3)
- Mixed Doubles Plate: Viv Macrae and Ian Macrae beat Carolyn Perry and Malcolm Waters (2-6, 7-6, 6-1)
During the year there may be other American tournaments, weekend events, and tournaments for juniors.
The Road to Wimbledon
Some of our under 14 juniors will be playing in this singles tournament. The first round is played within the club and the winner and runner-up go through to the county finals. The county winners get to play at Wimbledon!
