Annual Club Tournament
The club runs a tournament each year over a number of months for men's and ladies' singles and doubles, and mixed doubles. The results from the 2008/9 club tournament are as follows:
- Men's Singles: Rob Jones beat Stuart Hutchison (6-4, 2-6, 6-3)
- Ladies' singles: Wendy Coke (round robin)
- Men's Doubles: Rob Jones and Lee Sharpe beat Tim Troughton and Colin Smith (6-3, 2-6, 6-4)
- Ladies' Doubles: Viv Macrae and Dee Wade beat Wendy Coke and Carol Smith (7-5, 7-5)
- Mixed Doubles: Anthony Hickling and Wendy Coke beat Carol and Colin Smith (7-5, 7-5)
- Mixed Doubles Plate: Barbara and Ronnie Stevens beat Helen Townsend and Martin Sime (6-4, 6-4)
During the year there may be other American tournaments, weekend events, and tournaments for juniors.
The Road to Wimbledon
Some of our under 14 juniors will be playing in this singles tournament. The first round is played within the club and the winner and runner-up go through to the county finals. The county winners get to play at Wimbledon!
