Tournaments
Annual Club Tournament
The club runs a tournament each year over a number of months for men's and ladies' singles and doubles, and mixed doubles. For 2011/12, this will take place over the winter with the finals on Saturday 10th March, followed by a 'bring and share' tea at around 4.30pm.
The results from the 2010/11 club tournament are as follows:
- Men's Singles: Stuart Hutchison beat Rob Jones (7-5, 6-7, 6-4)
- Ladies' Singles: Polly Christian beat Nila More (7-6, 2-6, 6-3)
- Men's Doubles: Lee Sharpe & Rob Jones beat Anthony Hickling & Ron Loxley (6-3, 6-2)
- Ladies' Doubles: Barbara Stevens & Nila More beat Carole Bankes & Carol Smith (6-3, 6-0)
- Mixed Doubles: Carole Bankes & Lee Sharpe beat Nila More & Martin Sime (6-2, 7-6)
- Mixed Doubles Plate: Helen Carver & Dave Curtis beat Linda Llewellyn & Malcolm Waters (6-0, 7-5)
During the year there may be other American tournaments, weekend events, and tournaments for juniors.
